Elektrichestvo

A theoretical and scientific-practical peer-reviewed journal.

The journal "Elektrichestvo" was founded in 1880 by outstanding Russian electrical engineers (P.N. Yablochkov, V.N. Chikolev, D.A. Lachinov and A.N. Lodygin), united in the VI (electrotechnical) department of the Imperial Russian Technical Society.

In the first issue of the journal in July 1880, its goals and objectives were defined: "... the development of various issues related to electrical engineering and the dissemination of necessary information both on the theory of electricity and on its application in science and the dormitory ... The journal is intended ... to report all the latest inventions in this field here and abroad ..., to monitor the electrical literature and give reports on the most important works...".

The subject of the magazine changed depending on the development of electrical engineering and electric power industry, the emergence of new scientific directions in these fields and in accordance with the tasks facing science and technology at different stages of the country's history.

It should be noted that until the 1930s, when scientific, technical and production journals began to be published en masse, including on thermal power engineering, radio engineering, nascent television, etc., the journal "Elektrichestvo" gradually stopped publishing articles on these problems, giving preference to energy and electrical engineering.

But even after that, the magazine's subject matter remained very broad. Currently, the subject of the journal corresponds to the nomenclature of specialties of the Higher Attestation Commission.

The journal "Elektrichestvo" is included in the List of peer-reviewed scientific publications that publish the main scientific results of dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Sciences, for the degree of Doctor of Sciences.

According to the List of peer-reviewed scientific publications of the Higher Attestation Commission, the journal publishes materials (which have received a positive review and approved by the editorial board) by groups of specialties of researchers, in accordance with the Nomenclature of specialties:

2.2.1.Vacuum and Plasma Electronics (technical sciences)

2.4.1 Theoretical and Applied Electrical Engineering (technical sciences)

2.4.2 Electrical Engineering Complexes and Systems (technical sciences)

2.4.3 Electrical Power Engineering (technical sciences)

2.4.4 Electrotechnology and Electrophysics (technical sciences)

2.4.5 Power Systems and Complexes (technical sciences)

The magazine's subject matter includes a place for the publication of historical materials dedicated to the anniversaries of major events in electrical engineering, outstanding Russian and foreign scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs who have made a significant contribution to world and domestic electrical engineering.
