Structural Dynamic Models of a Controlled Rectifier

Abstract

A discrete structural model of a controlled rectifier operating with an intermittent current is substantiated. The model has been obtained using the linearization method known from the theory of automatic control of discrete systems. The developed model differs from the known ones in having an additional negative feedback circuit for rectified current, which is implemented through an additional ideal impulse element. The availability of this feedback explains why the transfer gain is essentially lower in the intermittent current mode than it is during operation with continuous current. By disconnecting the above-mentioned feedback, the considered model is transformed into the well-known dynamic model of a controlled rectifier operating with continuous current. The model was subjected to analytical manipulations as a result of which is was transformed to the form known from other scientific publications on this subject.
